Don Bosco Technical Institute, Amsam, Tiruchy, which serves the poor and rural youth, conducted On-Job-Training (OJT) for its trainees. The training emphasized not only theoretical knowledge but also providing valuable industrial exposure. The students need to get familiarize with the working culture of the industries. This helps the graduates into workforce as they are well-prepared to contribute effectively. The 125 trainees were from different trades: motor mechanic vehicle, electrical, air-conditioning, fitter, welding, carpentry, and wireman. Theoretically learned inputs were applied as practical skills in real-world industrial settings. Students are strategically placed in different companies based on their chosen trade, with each industry hosting 30 to 40 students. The students were placed in Infinite Group of Companies and LG Balakrishnan Group of Companies in Coimbatore, Rane ZG and Chellammal Industrial in Pudukottai, PLA motors, Nexa and Kalpana Batteries in Tiruchy and many other industries and companies in the state In addition to the hands-on experience, students receive a stipend for their work, which helps them to cover their basic expenses, as all of them were from poorer family background..
