An awareness programme on Drug Prevention was organised by Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Salem. Totally 132 children from local slum settlements participated in the programme. Mr. K. Saravanakumaran, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Criminal Investigation Department was the chief- guest. Ms. Pavithra Venkatesh, who got 6 th place in Pole Vault in the recently concluded Asian Games 2023, was the guest-of-honour. Both of them motivated children to focus on their studies and development of sports and cultural talents and not to distract themselves with unhealthy habits, like, consuming alcohol and drugs. Dr. Ashwant Vetrivel, Salem District Tobacco Control Division Officer spoke on impact of drug usage by children. Fr Asvin, Asst. Director of Don Bosco Jananam, animated the children with multimedia presentation on the topic.
