DB Anbu Illam saved me and my family


Names of Children : Ananda Kumaresan & Anand Kumar (Siblings)
The two kids namely Ananda Kumaresan and Anand Kumar aged 7 and 5 respectively were rescued by Child helpline and given shelter at Don Bosco Anbu Illam.

Back Ground of the Child

The children were from Sundarapuram, Coimbatore . The painful and pathetic incident of their life was that their father himself had murdered their mom due to some family problems. Father was put in jail and the children were left abandoned and their relatives were taking care of these children. Elder brother Ananda Kumaresan was working in a Cycle shop at the age of 7. In his tender age, the child used to get hurt often in his hands while working.

Intervention by Don Bosco Staff

An outreach worker from Don Bosco Anbu Illam saw him working in the cycle shop at a very early age and that prompted him to start conversation with the child. As he built-up trust in the child, the outreach worker found out the child’s interest in studies and assured to help him.The child also accepted the same and he was brought to Don Bosco Anbu Illam. The Child also wanted his brother to be with him. So our staff put efforts to trace his uncle’s home and brought his brother to Anbu Illam . Anbu Illam Provided Shelter for both the kids.In the year 2000 they were placed at School. Both completed their X std. Anandha kumaresan joined in Don Bosco Industrial Training Center at Madurai and completed his course in the trade of Mechanic (Motor Vehicle) in the year 2011. His younger brother Anandkumar completed his XII std and Joined DB Cad Chennai to complete his Diploma in Video Audio Editing.
Anandkumar is now working in Red Moment Designer Photos at Fun Mall as Photo Editor and earning Rs. 15000 pm.Ananda Kumaresan is now owning a car and using it as a taxi. Both of them have saved money and bought a piece of land. Their dream is to built a house and live there.
Award won by them Ananda Kumaresan and Anandkumar both siblings were honored with “The Young Achievers Award -2019 by Groot Foundation, Coimbatore. These two Youngsters were awarded for their Self-confidence and success in life depending purely on their hard work. Being a semi-orphan children who were given shelter and education by Don Bosco Anbu Illam from their childhood successes in life with their effort.
