“Life was good when I was young. I lived with my parents at Sivakasi. Our home was peaceful, but then things changed. My dad left the family. My Mom and I were left alone. My mom was working in a fire-works company and that tragedy happened, she died in a fire accident. After that, I was taken care by my grandmother. I was studying in a private school at Thirunelveli. But I started roaming on streets often. One day I decided to run away to Coimbatore. When I reached Coimbatore Railway Station, I was caught by police and since I was a small boy they referred me to Don Bosco Anbu Illam. I started my schooling there. A lot of training were given at Don Bosco Anbu Illam to develop my leadership quality. Every day we had games after school hours. My favorite games were football and volleyball. I was in charge for Children's Parliament, Media Club & Eco Club. I occasionally visit my grandmother. After my XII grade, I wanted to my higher studies. Don Bosco Anbu Illam with the help of the District Child Protection Unit helped me to study Marine Education in a college in Chennai City. I finished my studies and I got a job in a ship. Now I have started travelling in ship as a crew. I enjoy my job and I am very grateful to Don Bosco Anbu Illam and other donors for giving me a meaningful life. I have started helping other children through Don Bosco Anbu Illam.â€
